AD Card privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
AD Card keeps everything on your phone. We don't collect, receive or share any of your information.
In short: no account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code. What you type into AD Card never leaves your iPhone.
What AD Card stores
Only what you choose to enter, on your own device:
- Your name (optional), injury level and usual blood pressure
- How you manage your bladder, and anything you add about what has set off dysreflexia before
- Your medication note, allergies and other medication, in your own words
- Your spinal centre and consultant
- Up to three emergency contacts (name, relationship, phone number)
- Hospital stay details: current pressure sores, turning schedule, how you are moved, bowel routine, notes
- Which steps of the Medical ID checklist you have ticked
This is held in the app's storage on your phone, in a shared area that lets the AD Card widgets read it. It is not sent anywhere.
Apple Health
If you tap Fill from Apple Health, AD Card asks permission to read your blood pressure readings and shows your recent ones so you can pick your usual reading. AD Card only reads, and only when you tap that button. It never writes to Health. Only the reading you choose is kept, as part of your card. You can withdraw access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → AD Card.
Widgets, Siri and shortcuts
The Lock Screen widget shows that you are at risk of autonomic dysreflexia, your injury level, and (if you leave it on) your usual blood pressure. Anyone holding your phone can see a Lock Screen widget without unlocking it. Your name is hidden unless you turn it on. You can switch each of these in Edit my details or remove the widget.
The "Show my AD Card" Siri phrase and Shortcuts action only open your card on your phone.
Printing and sharing
If you print or share your wallet card, the PDF is created on your phone and goes wherever you send it. AD Card does not see where.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, Apple may include AD Card's data in that backup, according to your own Apple settings. That is between you and Apple. AD Card has no copy of it.
Deleting your information
Open Edit my details, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my card. This erases everything AD Card has saved. Deleting the app does the same. Anything you copied into Medical ID in the Health app stays there until you remove it in Health.
Children
AD Card collects no information from anyone, including children.
Not medical advice
AD Card is an information card. It does not measure your blood pressure, tell you whether you are having an episode, or recommend any medication. The first-aid summary is based on published guidance, and the sources are listed in the app. Follow the plan from your own spinal team. See the terms and disclaimer.
Changes to this policy
If this ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date, and the app's description will say so.
